PostSubject: Friend invite spam software advertised on YouTube   Sun Jul 29, 2007 12:55 pm

Jinx brought two videos to my attention which advertise software tubers can use to spam for friend/subscriber invites. Watching these two vids has really annoyed me and I've sent a complaint to YouTube Management about this. It's no wonder we're getting so many friend/subscriber invites and I have a feeling from now onwards it's gonna get a lot worse! Watch the vids:

Sounds familiar, but I haven't checked out the videos yet. Would that be the same thing LisaNova was using? I've heard about people using such scripts to inflate their friend invites on YouTube. Absolutely ridiculous, numbers don't mean a thing.

Ok now that I've seen these two videos, I can't believe she's so blatent about it in the tutorial. In the comments she insists that none of this is against YouTube TOS. Still, I'm staying clear of that kind of program. If you can't do those things personally, it's not even worth the "minimal effort."

I wouldn't want a bunch of random people I don't even know listed as "friends". What is the point? People would just get pissed off at you for spamming, unless they also want to add more friends (likely for popularity reasons).

Programmers should put their skills to good use. Why waste that talent being obnoxious? They could get paid to fix some of the many flaws on YouTube, instead, and have users' eternal gratitude. Wink

Now I understand why Ive been getting tons of random friend invites from people that have never watched my clips, don't know me, have never interacted with me on other platforms (gaming , stickam, forums etc) and know nothing about me...What a waste of time (and pretty sad to be honest! Rolling Eyes lol ).
